If the volume of an audio file is very low even if you increase the speaker volume to 100%, then it becomes useless. This article explains how to make the volume of an audio file louder in windows 7.

How to make Audio files louder in Windows 7

You may be having an audio file whether it is an MP3 song or some thing else which you want to listen in your Windows 7 computer. But if the loudness is very low such that you can not hear it properly even if you change the volume of speakers to 100%, then what will you do?

You can adjust the volume of an audio file with the help of an audio editing software. You need to download an audio editing software called as GoldWave. I have added about the GoldWave Digital Audio Editor in the Products section of MWC. You can see the details of this software by clicking here.

The first thing you need to do is to download the software from the download site. or Click here to goto the download page.

Once you download the software, you can install it in your Windows 7 computer. Now goto the path Start -> All Programs -> GoldWave -> GoldWave and open the installed software. There will be a shortcut on the desktop for this software after installation. You can even click on the shortcut and open it.

Once the GoldWave software is open, you need to click File -> Open in the home screen of the software. Select the MP3 song or the audio file for which you want to adjust the volume.

Now your audio file is ready for editing by this software, what you need to do is simply adjust the volume. You can locate the Change Volume button which is normally seen on the tool bar. You need to click on it to open the Volume Editor. Now you can move the DB(decibel)slider further to the right so that it gives out louder volume when played back. The slider can be moved to the left if you want to reduce the volume of louder audio files. Once you adjust the volume to a suitable level, click on OK button. It is possible to preview the audio file in this window itself by using the Play and Stop buttons. Now you can save the audio file. That is all. Now if you playback this audio file in windows media player, you will hear it louder than earlier.
