How to add live web pages to a power point presentation

You are giving a power point presentation on how to use Google search box effectively. Let us say that there is a slide in your presentation on how to use the google search box effectively. This require you to show the audience in real time on how to use the google search box by using a web browser. How is it possible? Normally any one will minimize the power point presentation and open a new browser window and show the demonstration. Once again you will maximize the presentation. A number of steps are involved if you do like this.

But there is a way to embed the web page inside the power point slide and show the web pages live while presentations. Some times it is required to show the information from internet while giving a power point presentation. Power point does not normally support inserting a web page in the slides. So what is the solution. Let us see how we can embed a web page in a power point slide.

The only solution to insert pweb pages in a power point slide is to download LiveWeb. LiveWeb is a software which can be downloaded from the LiveWeb Website. Once it is downloaded and installed in your computer, you can use it for showing web sites in power point slides. LiveWeb is an add-in for power point. It is a small file of around 50 KB size.

You can goto Tools Menu in Power point and Tools -> Add-ins. This is in Powerpoint 2003.

In Power point 2010, you need to follow the path: File -> Options. After clickinn on 'Options', select Add-ins on the left side and then select 'PowerPoint Add-ins' from the Manage menu and now you have to click on 'Go'.

Now the Add-ins window opens up. You need to click onj 'Add New' to add the LiveWeb add-in that you just downloaded now.

Now go to the folder where you extracted LiveWeb add-in, and select it.

You may get a warning message saying that the add-in may contain a macro. You just click on 'Enable Macro' button to continue.

Now you can see LiveWeb which is listed in the list of Add-ins and you can add a live web page in Power point slide

Now let us see how we can insert a live web page after installation of LiveWeb software.

Click on 'Web Page' icon in the LiveWeb group from the 'Insert' Menu.

Now you will see that the LiveWeb wizard opens up asking you to give the URL of the website. You need to enter the URL of the web page that you want to show in your presentation.

Once you enter the URL of the web page, you will be asked for an option of enabling of refresh of the web page.

The next and the last option will allow you to set the size and position for showing the web page in your power point slide. Just enter those values.

Once you click on OK button, the LiveWeb wizard closes and your slide will display the web page which gets refreshed in real time

That is all, your power point slide show is ready to show web pages in real time.
