This article is about how to increase the speed of Windows XP and how to close unwanted services in Windows XP?
If you are using Windows XP and your system performance is slow and you want to increase the speed of your Windows XP.
Then you have closed all unwanted services in Windows XP. There are many such services which take lots of processing unnecessary.
These services slow down your system.
Just follow these below simple steps to increase the speed and improve the performance of your windows XP.
1)
Click on
START
button, then click on
Control Panel
.
2)
Now click on
Administrative Tools
, then click on
Services
.
3)
Now Disable the following services:-
1] Alerter
2] Clipbook
3] Computer Browser
4] Fast User Switching
5] Human Interface Access Devices
6] Indexing Service (Slows the hard drive down)
7] Messenger
8] Net Logon (unnecessary unless networked on a Domain)
9] Netmeeting Remote Desktop Sharing (disabled for extra security)
10] Remote Desktop Help Session Manager (disabled for extra security)
11] Remote Procedure Call Locator
12] Remote Registry (disabled for extra security)
13] Routing & Remote Access (disabled for extra security)
14] Server
15] SSDP Discovery Service (this is for the utterly pointless "Universal P'n'P", & leaves TCP Port 5000 wide open)
16] TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
17] Telnet (disabled for extra security)
18] Universal Plug and Play Device Host
19] Upload Manager
20] Windows Time
21] Wireless Zero Configuration (for wireless networks)
22] Workstation
4)
After disabling all the above services. Restart your system and now see the improved speed and performance of your Windows XP.
