In this article, I will explain to you, what are the steps required to use the new Indian Rupee symbol in your computer ?


What is the New Rupee symbol?


The Indians are launched the Rupee symbol which you will see after sometime on the new keyboard that can be typed using the shift key in the same way as we did with the dollar symbol. This new symbol is the standardization symbol for the Indian currency and the purpose of which is to provide the graphical importance for the Indian currency.

As previously on the complaints of many programmers that the Indian symbol should be there in the keyboard so that we can use it when required and express our ideas to some other person in our own currency, As previously we are using the dollar currency symbol to depicting the cash amount. This would provide the logo for the Indian currency and increased the importance of the Indian currency, you can use it in your computer system but requires little bit work to do on it such that downloading it from internet and make some configuration settings.

The window 7 environment also allows the feature of using the rupee symbol on any document, even though it is not present on the keyboards which we are currently using, but still the window 7 platform has provided the provision to download this symbols from the internet and save this symbols in the font folder, once you have download it from the internet.

There are also lots of videos also there in the websites which will provide the video demo to its user to display "how to use the Indian rupee symbol on any document". The recent survey of the internet world has shown that till now about 5000 users have downloaded the font symbol of the Indian rupee.

The following are the steps that will explains to how to use the Indian rupees symbol on your keyboards-

1. Firstly download the font symbol from the internet, As this symbol is founded by the Mangalore based Foradian technologies Pvt Ltd and you can download it from the link given at the bottom of the article and then save it in the font folder of your computer system which will allows the users to select the font of your choice on your computer.

2. In order to install this symbol on your computer under the font folder, you should click on the start button and then go to the control panel and then paste the font that you have downloaded from the internet on the font options folder displayed under the control panel.

Once you have installed the font under the font folder then press the key below the escape key and on the top of the tab key that looks like this ~, as key is chosen because most of the programmers has doesn’t use this key, As this key is of no practical importance till now and this is the reason that this key is chosen by the creators of the Indian rupee symbol.

4. After that go to the root directory of the font folder under your C drive and check whether that symbol looks in your font folder or not ?, if not then again install it using the copying paste option and then it will installed that font in the root directory.

5. Once you have typed the ~ symbol in the word document then select the “Rupee Foradian Font” and once you have selected it then it will convert the ~ symbol into the new Rupee symbol.

This will created the new rupee symbol on the location where you have typed the ~ key and you will use it in any word document as it is use with document, files, images, video etc. The sharing of any document which contains the new rupee symbol will automatically installed that symbol in the other computer and in this way we can use the symbol according to our needs and requirement.
