How to remove search in Windows 7

Windows Vista and Windows 7 include new search facility which is included in the Windows startup menu and you can search the Windows system by using the Windows start up search. You can search the Computer or internet using the search. Once the search is finished it will show the options like Search in computer and Search in Internet. If you select search in computer it will open the windows explorer and it will show the search result. If you select search in internet then it will open the internet explorer to search and it will show the search result.

Windows XP users may want to disable the search or some want to use third party software to search the computer can disable the search option Windows 7 and Vista.

In order to disable the Windows search, click the Windows start button and open the control panel and from control panel select Programs and Features link and select the Turn Windows features on or off link from the left pane will open Windows features Window and it will show a list of Windows features that you can enable or disable from Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Select Windows Search and then click OK button to remove Windows Search from the Windows start menu. On click of the OK button a popup Window will be shown and click yes to continue. In order to apply the setting you need to restart the system. Once the system is restarted Windows search will not be available in Windows start up.

In order to get back the Windows search open the Windows Features from control panel and select Windows search in order to enable it in Windows start up.
