The Aero in Windows is a new set of visual enhancements which was introduced in Windows Vista. The Aero in Windows 7 has much better user interface and more features. This articles explains about the features of Windows 7 operating system.
What is Aero in Windows 7
The
Aero
is a set of visual effects that make your desk top more lively.
Windows Aero
. was introduced from Windows Vista edition of Windows operating system. The Aero in Windows 7 has been improved very much compared to Windows Vista and has many more new visual effects and much better user interface. The Aero is also available in Windows Server 2008 OS.
New features like Peek and Shake are introduced in
Aero of Windows 7
. Let us see what are the features of Aero in Windows 7.
Aero Peek
: The Aero Peek in Windows 7 allows you to look at your desktop through all your open windows. You just click on the right most edge of the task bar, and all windows will be minimized and you can see the desktop icons. Once again if you click on it, you will be able to see the open windows again. The Aero Peek feature is included in the Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise editions of Windows 7.
Aero Snap
: The Aero Snap in Windows 7 is a method of resizing the windows by dragging them to the edge of your screen. If you drag a window either to the left or right side of the screen the window resizes itself to fill half of the screen.
Snap is a quick (and fun) new way to resize open windows, simply by dragging them to the edges of your screen. If you snap a window to the top of the screen it will maximize it. If you resize a window to touch top or bottom of the your screen will maximize the window but will keep the original width as it is. so it depends on how you drag a window whether you want to expand vertically, or maximize it fully, or want to keep two windows side by side and compare them.
Aero Shake
: The Aero Shake is an interesting feature of Windows 7. If you shake a window by quickly moving it back and forth, the other open windows will automatically minize themselves just keeping the windows that you shaked as open. If you shake it again, all other windows will be maximized.
The Aero in Windows is now made to be more touch friendly. The title bar buttons of the windows in Windows 7 are much bigger compared to earlier versions.
If you just pass over the taskbar button of a running program, the dominant RGB color of that icon will be glowing on the button. You can also see a shiny effect following the mouse cursor as the cursor is moving across an active icon.
These are some of new features of Aero in Windows 7.
