DVD Maker Software comes along with Windows 7 when you install Windows 7 in your computer. This article explains how to create DVDs with DVD Maker.


How to burn DVDs with Windows 7 DVD Maker


DVD Maker is a program that comes by default along with Windows 7 operating system. The Windows 7 DVD maker was introuduced along with Windows Vista. This article explains how to create DVDs with DVD Maker. Please note that Windows DVD Maker tool is included with Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Ultimate editions. It may not be available with other editions of Windows 7.

You can open Windows 7 DVD maker from the Start menu. If you type 'dvd maker' in the search box of start menu, you will see the link to Windows DVD Maker application. Click on it and open Windows DVD maker.

Different types of files can be burned using Windows 7 DVD Maker application. Almost all video and audio format files can be burned using this tool. You can even burn pictures also.

Windows DVD maker can support all types of DVDs. But we cannot burn Blu-Ray discs with the help of Windows DVD maker. So if you want want to burn only CD or DVDs only, you can use Windows DVD Maker. Now let us see how we can burn DVDs with the help of Windows DVD maker.

  • You can open DVD Maker by clicking on Start->All Programs->Windows DVD Maker

  • Please remember that if you want to use DVD maker, the video card of your computer should support Directx 9 or higher and should use Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) drivers. Otherwise DVD maker will not work on your computer.

  • Once you open the Windows DVD Maker, you will see the main page with details on what you can do with Windows DVD Maker. Now click on Choose Photos and videos" button at the bottom right side of the window

  • Now another window opens up "Add Pictures and Videos to the DVD". You need to click on 'Add Items' link at the top.

  • Once you click on 'Add Items' link, you can go to the folder where your pictures, or videos or audio files are located. Select the file and click on 'Add' button. Like this you can add a number of images or videos etc.

  • At the bottom of the window, you can see the amount of time left in your DVD so that you can decide whether you can add more photos/videos or not.

  • Now you can preview the work that you have done. Once you are satisfied with the files added, you can click on 'Burn' button to start burning process.
