What is new in Windows 7 Desktop?


Windows 7 has added a number of new features to the desktop and a number of improvements. This article exdplains about the new features of Windows 7 desktop.

New features are added in Windows 7 which will enhance the way you can manage multiple windows in Windows 7. Windows 7 has three powerful new features called as Shake, Peek and Snap. Let us see what are these three new features.

  • Shake: Using the Shake feature in Windows 7, it is possible to quickly minimize all the windows on the desktop except the one which you have focus on. For this you need to click on the title bar of the window which you want to keep open, and shake the window back and forth fast, and you will see that the other windows are minimized and only that window will be seen. If you shake the window again, you will see all other windows again.

  • Peek: With the help of Peek feature in Windows 7, you can see the desktop through the open windows as if the windows are transparent. to do this, you need to simply move the mouse cursor over the transparent rectangle in the lower right corner of the screen and you can see that the open windows are transparent and you can see all the desktop icons and gadgets. The Peek feature is included in the Professional, Ultimate and Home premium editions of Windows 7.

  • Snap: The Snap feature is a new feature in Windows 7 with which you can size and arrange the windows by simply dragging their borders. You can even arrange two windows side by side. Depending on which edge you are choosing, the window will expand either horizontally or vertically.

    These features really make the experience of windows 7 user quite nice and provides an edge to Windos 7 over other versions.

    This is definitely a great resource which provides good information regarding the new features of the windows 7 operating system. This is a new feature that is implemented in the windows 7 operating system. There are also options available for implementing in the windows xp and windows vista.
