How to change desktop back ground image in Windows 7 Starter edition

Most of you may be thinking that Windows 7 is a great operating system with many features. It is correct to some extent. But if you are using the Windows 7 Starter edition of operating system, then you will not say that Windows 7 is a great OS. Many features of Windows 7 are not available in Windows 7 Starter edition.

The Windows 7 Starter edition is mainly aimed for note books and laptops and is the version of Windows 7 which is missing a lot of basic features. Among the features that are missing in Windows 7 Starter edition are DVD playback, multimonitor support, fast user switching, desktop personalization such as ability to change desktop background, windows colors, or sound themes etc.

The desktop background picture which is also called as wall paper is the picture that is displayed on your desktop background. All editions of Windows 7 allow for changing the desktop background image but Windows 7 Starter edition comes with only one desktop background which cannot be changed.

But there is a way to change the desktop background image even in Windows 7 Starter edition also. Please follow the instructions given below to change the desktop background image in Windows 7 Starter edition.

  • Click here for downloading a software called as 'Starter Wallpaper Changer.exe' and save it in your computer
  • Now click on the saved application and click 'Yes' on the security alert.
  • Now click on 'Browse' and select the image that you want to make as desktop background and click on OK button.
  • Now click on 'Apply'.
  • Now close the application.
  • Now log out from Windows 7 and log in again
  • Now you will see a new desktop background picture which you changed with that application

  • Most of you might not be using Windows 7 Starter edition. But I have written this article so that it may be useful for some few members who may be using Windows 7 Starter operating system in their note books.
