There are many ways to save space on Windows 7 computer .In this resource I will explain such simle tricks to save space on your Windows 7 computer.

1.Save space on your hard disk


You should go for Disk clean up to free up space on your hard disk. It will tell you about the files you can delete without causing any trouble to your computer.Such files include
a. Temporary Internet Files,
b. Recycle Bin

2.Defragment your computer


To use defragmentation follow these simple steps
a.Right click on the C
b.Select properties and click on "Tools".
c.Now click "Defrag Now"
d.Now your computer will scan the drive and suggest you whether defragmentation is needed or not .
In case it suggests to defragment then proceed it will help to organize the files in your computer.

3.Delete old or unused Program Files


You can use add or remove program to find out frequency of use of each program, space occupied by each program. This will help you to determine which programs are not used by you and should be deleted to increase the performance of your computer. Ensure that you do not delete any windows program needed for working of your computer.

4.Use external hard drive


You can use external hard drive to save space on your computer.Moreover an external hard drive is also less attacked by viruses.

5.Zip your files


Zipping means compressing your files into small size which can be accesed in future in original size.You can use programs like winzip for this purpose .

6.Save data on disk


You may use this option of storing your data on disk but it may prove to be costly method.It is better to use rewritable cd or dvd.

7.The music files


You might not be aware of the fact that music files cost a lot of space in your computer. So it is better to transfer these music files to external hard drive.

8.Delete files from your desktop


In case you are having a number of files on your desktop delete unused ones as they decrease the speed of your computer.
