Some times the laptop fan makes a lot of noise. This might be very much annoying to you. This article explains how to remove the noise and run the Laptop without any noise.


How to reduce the noise of a Laptop fan


The main advantage of a laptop is its mobility and you can carry it to any place easily. This is the reason many people prefer laptop rather than a desktop PC. But if your laptop fan makes a lot of noise, it is very much annoying and disturbing others. But there are ways to reduce this laptop noise like altering the options of your CPU fan or replace it with a new fan. Let us now see how you can fix this problem with help of software.

  • You can download and install a fan-controlled program on your laptop. You can find many free softwares in the internet.
  • After installing the program, you open it and navigate to the main CPU fan. The CPU fan is usually the one that makes much noise. Now right-click on the fan and go to the controller settings. In this menu, you can control the limits for this fan.
  • You can reduce the speed limits of the fan so that it does not make loud noise.


  • Another method of reducing laptop fan noise is the hard ware method. Let us see how this can be done.

  • You can purchase a brand new CPU fan
  • Now open the laptop case. Once the laptop case is open, you have to unscrew the mounting bolts on the current CPU fan.
  • Now remove the old fan and fix the new CPU fan and connect the power cord to the new fan
