In this resource I would like to introduce "how to speed up the system while getting it started"
How to make your start up faster
We generally start our system and get involved in other tasks till it starts up. This is general routine followed by many whose system takes very long time to just start up. This does not seem to be a problem until and unless you face a situation where you have to work on a very urgent basis on your system and it takes the same long duration to get started up.
So, follow the simple steps below to overcome the problem.
Reduce the wait time for boot
1) Click on Start.
2) Click on run and type 'msconfig' in the box.
3) Click on OK or Press Enter.
4) A new window opens up.
5) Go to BOOT.INI tan in the System Configuration Utility Window.
6) In the box you will find "Timeout = 30" . Change 30 to 3.This is the wait time before the boot start up.
7) Click on OK
Delete temporary files on a regular basis
1) Click on Start.
2) Click on run and type %temp% in the box.
3) Click on OK or Press Enter.
4) A new window opens up.
5) Press ctrl+A or go to Edit menu and click on Select All.
6) Press shift+del and click on OK.
Turn off automatic startup of unnecessary services
1) Click on Start.
2) Click on run and type services.msc in the box.
3) Click on OK or Press Enter.
4) A new window opens up.
5) Check for the services that have automatic start option but are not required.
6) Disable all such services.
Following these simple things would help you in acheiving improved Start up than earlier.
