Now click on the start button then Right click on the my computer then click on the properties and then see from the dialog box whether there is 64 bit there or not?

And then under properties option you will come to know that whether you are using 32 bit Window XP or using 64 bit, if using 64 then you can use o upgrade the same in the Window 7.
