As it is always difficult to know type the fault occurs in our network and it is difficult for the person to know which fault has occurred. Therefore I will discuss some faults which has occurred in the network computers when connected in a LAN.

Most of time the problem that may trouble the networked computers in a LAN are mostly due to cable problems. It may rather lead to LAN failure in most of the cases.

Besides this various reasons of LAN failures are following-

Connection problems
Software setting problems
Problems in network Interface Card
Topology failure
Hub failure etc

Normally if there is a problem with the network interface card and the Hub, it can be easily detected. As the link lights on your NIC and the Hub can tell you if your computer is connected to the network and is accepting packets or not.

To troubleshoot your LAN problems follow this steps-

Firstly check your network interface card as it is working properly or not, if not then diagnose the network interface card and check if it is providing proper connectivity or not.

Check the cable whether all the cables are connected properly or ether there is a loose connection between two wires, if there can tighten them with the help of tools used in the networking operation.

Check for the drivers and other networking software whether there settings are allowing browser to connect to the server computer or not, if not then adjust your settings according to your server computer.

Run the diagnostic test on your system with the help of advanced diagnostic software provided by the IBM or with the help of QA provided by the interim solutions.
