Configuring

When you install a circuit board some of them may be faulty functional while some of them does not work. This networking is because of the conflicts of the new board with the existing boards. In this case configuring of the new boards are required.

It consists of assigning resources to the device and providing software support for the device such that operating system and the board may do the following-

Specify the COM port of modem, LPT port for printer, DMA port for printer, I/O address on the boards, IRQ lines on the board.
