The following are the steps required to hide the file in the window 7 --

* Right click on the file to which you want to hide from any other user.

* Then click on the properties option provided at the bottom of the pop up menu.

* The new dialog box appear with so many text boxes and in that dialog box select the hidden file attribute by clicking on the box provided in front of hidden text.

* After clicking on the hidden box click on the apply button and then click on OK.

* After that click on the tool option provided on the menu bar and then clicks folder options.

* Select the view option from the dialog box appears after clicking folder options.

* Then check the box "Don't show hidden files and the folders" and click apply and then click ok.

* It will hide your file and when you want to unhide the file, then also follow the same steps and check the box "show hidden files and the folders".

By using all these steps you can provide security to your files when some unknown user will changes the settings of your computer in your absence.
