Why there is delay in recording in windows 7

Most of you might have faced the problem of a delay while recording with microphone after upgrading to windows 7. The delay may be of the order of 500 milli seconds or so. Let us see what is the problem and how to solve it.

This kind of problem normally occurs due to improper installation of audio drivers. The solution is to remove the driver and install it again or run windows update. Let us see how to remove the driver.

First click on Start. Now type "devmgt.cpl" in the Start search box and press Enter.

Now you will see a dialog box related to devices. Under "Sound, Video and game controllers", double click on the entry of the sound card.

Now uninstall the driver by clicking on the tab 'Driver' and Uninstall.

Now run windows update to install the audio driver. Now you can check whether the problem is fixed or not.
