The black screen problem is a common problem for most of the computers around the world which are having windows 7 installed in them. This black screen appears after the Windows 7 boot up. The black screen has not affected every one but most of the Windows 7 PCs are affected. This problem has been nick named as "Black screen of Death". Let us see what are the causes of this black screen problem and how to fix this problem.

The most common cause for this problem may be due to the problems with video adapaters. You need to check the cables for any problem. Some times if you are using multiple monitors, the problem may occur. Try to use a single monitor and see if the problem sorts out. The methods listed below may fix the black screen problem if any malware has infected your computer.

Use System Restore: Some times this problem can be fixed using system restore. You can simply start Windows 7 in safe mode and use system restore to restore back to a date before last update.

Use Anti-Malware: Some users of Windows 7 face this black screen problem due to malware. If the problem with your PC is due to a malware then you need to run Windows 7 in safe mode and you have to scan your computer with anti malware softwares and get rid of malwares. It is found that removing malwares fixed the black screen problem in most cases.

Change display settings: Some times the black screen problem may be due to wrong display settings. So you can try to start windows 7 in safe mode and change the display settings back to normal. Try to reduce the display resolution and see that the screen refresh rate is 60 Hertz.
