How to sit in front of a Computer

Many of us sit as we like while using a computer and later run to doctor saying our back/neck/hands are hurting. Visiting a doctor for such reasons can be avoided just by taking care of very simple things that I have mentioned in the resource below.

Avoiding discomfort while using a computer.

The general or common or regular piece of word that we listen from the mouth of the people using computers for a longer duration is OH MY GOD !!!! MY BACK/NECK/HAND is terribly paining. Almost 95% of the people reading this article would have said this thing during one time or the other.

This is not a situation that is unavoidable. There are simple steps which when made as a daily habit will avoid you form experiencing discomfort.

Body position/posture

Sitting for hours in the same position leads to fatigue and discomfort. While using a computer for long durations, may it be at home or office few things should be taken care of which will avoid such discomfort.

While sitting for long hours care should be taken that proper support should be provided to our back. For this the chair should be selected such that it provides support to our lower back. The chair should not be too low or too high. It should be in a height such that we make ourselves seated in a comfortable position.

The next thing to be taken care of is that there should be sufficient free space near our legs to allow free movement of our legs.

Accessories Position

The keyboard and mouse should be placed at the same height. These two which are at equal height should always be placed at your elbow level and at an ample distance from your body where you need not bend forward to access these. The keyboard should be at the center of your body and the mouse next to it at your right hand side.

Hands Position/posture

Always make sure that the position of your wrist is straight while using the keyboard or mouse. Never ever bend you wrist to access these things.

Neck Position/posture

The screen of your computer should always be at your eye level which allows your neck to avoid from bending down or stretching up. At eye level also implies the screen should be to the center of your body position but not sidewards.

Make note of these simple things and start practicing them while sitting before a computer and you will never again say OH MY GOD!!!
