Windows 8 features & plans of Microsoft

Microsoft is planning to release the next version of Windows i.e, Windows 8 in 2012 with new features. You can read about the new features which are expected in Windows 8 from this article.



Microsoft introduced the Windows7 in 2009 but it was considered as a release update. Now Microsoft is planning to announce a major release in 2012 with the code name 'Windows 8'. The previous major release from Microsoft was Windows Server 2008 in the year 2008. Now after 4 years the plans of Microsoft are very high and they are introducing many new features in Microsoft Windows 8. Here are some of the expected new features of Microsoft Windows 8.

New features in Windows 8


Sensor features in Windows 8
One of the most expected new features in Windows 8 is implementation of sensors in machines. So motion detection will be used to control your PC's using Windows 8. For example when ever you go outside your room the PC will automatically goes to sleep mode and when you returns it will automatically wake up.

Booting time in Windows 8
In Windows 7 the booting time was very less but what if there is no booting time at all. That means when you switch on the power button the machine is ready for use. Microsoft plans to introduce this feature in Windows 8 as 'Log Off + Hibernate'. This feature enables the machine to power up from zero watts consumption.

Store for Windows 8 applications
Microsoft will probably start an online store for purchasing Windows applications with the introduction of Windows 8. It may be one of there plans with software vendors to reduce piracy. Some of the sources also says that developers from certain areas may be allowed to submit/upload there applications to Windows store.

Customizing Windows 8
Windows 8 is expected to release in different flavors and the users will be able to customize user interfaces and applications in it. The users can have there own customized online Windows stores for purchasing Windows 8 applications. The users will be allowed to customize the aspects like application, devices, multimedia, help and support and user interface.

New reset feature in Windows 8
The new reset feature in Windows 8 is called 'Push to Reset'. This feature allows the user to re-install the OS and applications without loss of data. All these operations can be done with a single mouse click in Windows 8.

The windows 8 is also expected to have additional support for hand-held devices like tablet PC's. Users may be able to copy there personnel configuration from Windows 8 machine to tablet PC's. The other features expected in Windows 8 includes 3D support, HD ready support, USB 3.0 support, Bluetooth 3.0 support, use of motion sensors for gaming, 128 bit compatibility etc.
