PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER FROM SPYWARE AND SO ON I have had my more than my share of spyware, malware, this-ware, that-ware, so I have really bumped my computer up security-wise. Below are tips to prevent you from contacting anything you don't want to. If you implement all of these tips, the possibilities of you contacting any spyware are nil.PREVENTION OF SPYWARE:-1.The very first thing to do is to install a good spyware blocker.I said spyware not an antivirus because spyware is not a virus. A lot of anti-virus programs don't pick up spyware, thus the need for two different applications.
So, I suggest you two ways to completely protect your computer. You buy very good Security software that come with spyware, antivirus protection, and a firewall together or you can just get best program for each security like one for spyware other for antivirus and firewall.
Bring one from each or a single that will not mess up your computer with basket full of software. Please don't get confused for selecting the best for you in buying them. It's all a matter of preference; just make sure you install one.2.Install a good firewall.Oho yes!! Microsoft have a firewall built already into the operating system and that provides the basic one, but there are other excellent firewalls that have more advanced options that can help keep you safer. I used a firewall when I didn't even know what it was, I just "had heard" that I needed it. Firewall is not a big deal! What's a firewall than? Simply your computer is surrounded by high block concrete wall with no gates and that's what I mean. In the computer world, a firewall is a barrier against anything that would compromise the security of a computer and keeps out things such as spyware, viruses, malware, hackers, etc. Internet is a public area where everyday hackers build viruses and other spywares. It is very much difficult take care of your computer if you don’t have right antivirus program installed in your computer. So always check your security and update as soon as it needs to get updated. When your firewall is in place, check your settings. Firewall settings can be confusing so read the help files or ask some and its better to find it in Google .Once you're up and running, there are a couple of online firewall scans that you can run to see if it's working properly. After you are through with that, then hop online if you want to and check out one of the online scans that test your firewall security. Depending on what comes up, you can keep your current settings or adjust them accordingly.
3.Always get updated! Before I didn't know that I had to keep updating my computer security programs. I figured that everything could update itself, and if it didn't then the current version or whatever was probably fine. Not so! New spyware and viruses are written everyday and it is essential that you keep up-to-date. Windows updates, security updates, patches, definitions, your firewall, your anti-virus program, your anti-spyware program – make sure it's all current! You set you computer to update automatically. I update some of these things myself because I don't like any update programs running in the background to slow me down, but I have to make sure I remember to do my updates manually.4.Be Safe! Don't click on it!Okay, now I am going to give you good tips on how to surf safely. If I don't know what it is, no matte what it is, I never click on it. Never ever click. So don't get fooled!! If there's something I come across that looks like something I would be interested in ads I just ignore and do what I was doing before. If a pop up advertisement arises while working on internet then never click on it that must be containing harmful viruses that will affect your PC very badly. What will I do when it pop ups? Simply click on the small 'X' button on top right side of the box. If there are two pop ups? Now companies are putting an 'X' in the upper-right hand corner inside the pop up so that they can confuse you. Don't get confused!!!
If you close the pop up by clicking the inner 'X', then you have just activated the adware/spyware. In other words, never click inside the box!
If you do all of these things, I can guarantee that you won't be dealing with computer problems any more. So, be safe while using internet.
