To add "Run" command to "Start" Menu in Windows7.

The Run command which we make use of in our daily life was came into existence with Windows 95 version.

Run command Shortcut key: Windows Key + R

In older versions of Windows OS the Run command is directly available in the Windows "Start" Menu and the users can start their search from there, where as in Windows7 it is not present, instead there is a search box available in the Menu through which we can achieve this.

It is one of the advantages in Windows7.

But the beginners of Windows may feel something is missing in Windows7.. There is a way to include your Run command into your "Start Menu"...

Here are the steps to get back your Run command in Windows7 "Start" Menu.

  • Check the box against "Run Command" as done in the below picture and click "OK".

  • Enable Run Command Option

  • Then Click "Apply and OK" button under "Start Menu Tab" and the change will get reflected, when you visit the "Start" Menu next time.
