How to clean LCD monitors

LCD monitors being more sensitive should be cleaned with more care in comparison to CRT monitors.The same thing is also with LCD television.

How to clean LCD monitors

1.First of switch off the monitor. That is because when screen is dark, it will be easier to see the dirty or oily areas.

2.Take a dry, soft cloth and gently wipe the screen. I will suggest using the micro fiber type of cloth used to clean eyeglasses.

3.If the dry cloth is not able to wipe the dirt or oil, do not press harder in an attempt to scrub it off. This can cause pixels of your LCD monitor to burn out.

4.You may use distilled water or with an equal ratio of distilled water to white vinegar instead of dry cloth.

5.The plastic edge around the screen can be cleaned with any cleaner but ensure that there is no contact with the screen itself.

Precautions

1.Do not use paper towels, tissue paper, or something like your shirt to wipe the LCD screen. These can scratch the screen.

2.Do not use cleaning products containing ammonia, ethyl alcohol, acetone, toluene, ethyl acid, or methyl chloride. These can cause damage to the LCD screen.

3.Do not spray liquid directly on the LCD screen, it can run inside the monitor causing damage.
