Restore Quick Launch which is by default hidden in Windows 7

Many people impressed with Windows 7, still have some minor things to complain about Windows 7. For example, people used to Quick Launch in Windows XP, where they could pin their most used programs to easily access them with one click. With no quick launch in Windows 7, it has become tedious to reach the desired application in the Start menu with several clicks. As most of them complain about disappeared quick launch from Windows 7, it has actually been 'disabled' in Win 7 by default.

Enable Quick Launch in Windows 7

1. Right click on an empty space in the taskbar. Select Toolbars>>New Toolbar…
NewToolbar

2. In the text box for Folder, type %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Folder

3. Click Select Folder

Here you have your quick launch pinned to your task bar again. You can view the shortcuts in your quick launch by clicking the arrows. But like a traditional techie, you might even want the task bar to the left. Drag the dotted lines to adjust the quick launch.
**Remember to unlock the taskbar before you adjust the quick launch

Quicklaunch

Similar to your old quick launch bar, if you don't want the text and title to be shown in your quick launch, that can be taken care of as well. Right click on the dotted lines and uncheck 'Show Text' and 'Show menu' from the menu.
Now finally you have your quick launch the way you want in your Windows 7.
