This should be the simplest way of doing this task. download "Blockit" for google chrome. an extension for Google chrome. then just intstall.
go to tools - extensions- options
"Blockit" opens and prompts for password, for first run password is blank add the list of sites, block em all Happy days
Just another extension could simplify this task for a common man

The above site blocking procedure is not correct. It is not working for me with my Chrome browser.

It is not helpful. To be honest, I am only 13 yrs old and I type a website in and some porn website pops up fast and I accidentally clicked it now it always pops up so now my parents found out. I need to block it somehow but every website I go to learn how to block a website.
