I would actually prefer to live among demons than spending a night in an insane asylum. If you have ever been into one of those places, you are going to say that too. What, you have never been into one? Well, now you have got your chance to experience it as you are going to be able to play a game that is set in an asylum. The developers have ensured gamers that this game will retain all the genuine horrors and scares of an insane asylum. So it's going to be really a fun place to explore. There is something about asylums that has always intrigued me since the childhood. I have studied about a lot of them, most of which are located in United States of America.
Again, they are not operational anymore, or are they? You can go and visit any of the asylums and they will tell you that it's haunted. Now, I don't know if you believe in ghosts and stuff, but I can definitely tell you that all the asylums have some kind of negative leftovers still lingering around even after they are closed down. So when these developers actually thought about developing a game that was located in an insane asylum like the Outlast was, it got people captivated from the word go. And like any other wise developers, they capitalized on that interest and set up a Kickstarter campaign for that. Needless to say, it went viral just over the couple of hours and met its funding goal soon thereafter. Heck, they managed to raise much more than they needed to make the game. It wound up getting more than 3 million at the end. While it's still in development scheduled to come sometime in 2014, there is a lot we know about this gem. Here are some of the things we know. Let's delve deeper into the game and find out what it's all about -
What makes people go insane?
Have you ever tried to think what makes some people commit suicide in jail? Have you ever thought why they take special care and ensure that inmates can't commit suicide? There is a reason behind that. If you are in some place being cut off from the rest of the world, you are going to go insane for sure. The sense of isolation and the pain of it is too taxing to bear. A normal human being's brain will start making things up. Put it simply, it going to derange a sound human being in just a couple of months.
So can you imagine the plight of a sound man when he is locked in an insane asylum for no apparent reason? If someone can go mad in the prison, an asylum is more likely a place to go insane. This is the base of the lore in this game where you play as someone who hasn't done anything. The collusion among the officials has led them to believe that you are going to be a whistle-blower and they throw you in there for no reason leaving you to die. While the chances are less likely that he will ever see the light of the day again, he must try to survive and find a way out of the asylum where something else awaits him. I am not going spoil it for you and tell you what it actually is just like any other previewer and reviewer.
So if you want to find out what happens next, you'll actually have to give the Beta a go. The full game will be out sometime next month, although they are still pondering over a firm release date up until now. So nothing is sure and certain for now. They might as well wind up delaying the game. It has become a fashion to delay games anyway. Same thing happened with so many games this year, and provide the lack of gameplays from this game, I suspect that we are not going to be able to play the full version in 2014. Besides, the game developers have already hurled some subtle hints that they might delay the game if they ever feel like it needs more polishing. So there you go. Take this vague release date window with a grain of salt for the time being.
It's really spooky
You want a good reason to play Asylum? Well, here is a good one. What if I were to tell you that it's spooky as hell? I am one of those people that are not easily scared by a game, but damn, they knew how to scare the shi* out of people! It has scares and jump scares at every corner set up for you and it's going to get on your face when you least expect it to. You know, they say that mad people are the scariest people and I believe that after playing this game.
