Very recently at WWDC 2014, Yosemite has been introduced, which is the latest Apple OS X 10.10. This has been revealed and walkthrough to the various features were handled by Craig Federighi in the event occurred in San Francisco. The OS X 10.10 Yosemite has been improved to a new level in design, features and interface.

Let us now look deep inside and see what are the other impressive features that comes along with OS X Yosemite.

Design

The introduction of Yosemite was started with its design which carries beautifully crafted new icons which are simple as well as clean but fundamentally still Mac. The translucent display was yet another thing that makes the windows feel much more impressive. The new design features does not stays within the windows screen, rather it extends its detail on every apps.

Notification Center

The next thing is the notification center where it has all the updates like what Apple had introduced "Today View". Here you will be able to access various notifications such as calendar, meeting, weather and more. Moreover you can even integrate various third-party apps of your liking on to this notification with the help of widgets.

In this field, yet another feature that impressed me is the spotlight which virtually will take away the use of browser. Actually this is a search bar that is in the middle of the screen which will let you search anything you like, from internet to contacts or documents within your Mac. The inline preview that shows up once you start typing is the best thing to note.

Continuity

This is a set of features that will help you to continue one work even after you have switched between your devices.

One among the impressive feature in this field that the OS X Yosemite had offered is the hand-off. This delivers Airdrop between your various iOS devices and Mac. With this feature the interaction between iOS device and Mac has been taken to the next level. You do work on one device and you can continue the same and finish it off from your next device.

Yet another feature similar to this is the "proximity awareness". This feature will help your Mac sense that you are nearer and a prompt will appear in order to complete the unfinished work on one device from another.

iCloud, Safari and more

Although the above features are just the highlight of what OS X Yosemite actually is, there are lot more features and improvements such as the iCloud Drive which is somewhat similar to that of Google's Drive. This time iCloud offers cross platform service. This enables the user to access their documents or files from any platform with iCloud in it. Then there comes another feature that lets you answer the phone call right from your Mac. Much improved Safari browser now includes seamlessly adding tabs (even private tabs) without affecting rest of the tabs.

Even the MailDrop delivers significant changes including the design features and most importantly it allows you to upload large data which is up to 5GB.
