Please read ahead to know about the features / specifications of Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet along with its pricing. Here, you will also be introduced to the different models of Surface Pro 3 tablets.

Yes, we have heard it before but this time Microsoft really believes they have got it right to replace our PC with a tablet. The latest Surface Pro 3 Tablet from Microsoft is a definite beauty with its 12 – inch display. Trying to beat down competitors like Amazon, Google & Apple seems like a strong possibility with the specs dished out here. It looks like the device is launched with a sure shot idea of replacing bulky laptops and making it a one set machine for all purposes. In this article, we shall check why Microsoft considers this Windows tablet computer to be a good replacement for laptops.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Features

The new surface, along with its 12 inch display boasts of an aspect ratio of 3:2 and is quite sharp. The surface pro 3 is a whole 14% thinner than the surface 2. It is bound to be compared with the Apple MacBook Air and it does bring a lot of positives with it. It is lighter (1.76 pounds) and a tad bit cheaper at $799. Many people argue about considering the Apple MacBook air in the same league. This Pro 3 tablet sports the thinnest Intel core product and is extremely quick in processing. It also has a laptop – like keyboard to keep it in line with its demands of being a laptop replacement. The iPad has brought additional features like a keyboard that can be connected via Bluetooth but it hasn't really been comfortable enough.

Different Models
There would be 3 models & the cheapest Surface 3 starts at $799 in the US market. It is expected to start shipping by August end and will sport an Intel core i3 – 4020Y processor with 1.5 GHZ, coupled with an Intel HD4200 graphics card. No doubt, it looks like a powerful package. The Surface pro 3 will come forward with 4GB RAM & 64 GB storage. Now looking at the upper models of the tablet, there would have an Inter Core i7 – 4650U processor, with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz with a mighty higher speed of 3.3Ghz and with a graphics chip card of Intel HD5000. Both the higher models have 8GB RAM and the top end would have 256 GB of storage.

Battery and OS
The battery on all three is at a promised time of 9 hours with web usage and if you look at the comparison with MacBook Air (12 hours), it is quite less. It would sport the new Windows 8.1 and will prove to be quite tough competition on the portability end – much lighter than most competition. Typing is extremely easy with the Surface pen on the Surface pro 3 and this may be the strongest point in selling it around the world.

The pricing of latest Surface tablets in India is yet to be seen and could be the decision maker.

All in all, it does look like Mircosoft CEO Satya Nadella made sense when he said they were not interested in competing with other OEMS with the launch of this latest Surface tablet. Indeed, Surface Pro 3 has enough capabilities to fulfil the expectations of several laptop users, but, only time will tell whether it eventually replaces laptops.
