The real Mafia family- The Godfather has arrived on the Facebook and he has come in the social network with five families. Kabam has introduced The Godfather: Five Families in a hope to make the best offer to social gamers on the social gaming platforms.
The game is themed greatly one the lines of Facebook games, The Stratagems and Global Warfare. It is a hybrid strategy game where you play the role of a Mafia boss (male or female) and given a family in slump which you have to revive as a stronger family. The game is open to all type of gamers and as a strategy based game there is ample depth to keep you interested.

The game starts with building up your family which is in despair. You need to build resources for your family, construct buildings like restaurants, hideouts and resource buildings. Your estate has a library where you can learn all Mafia activities like trafficking, muscle building and other illegal activities. You are also required to train your thugs for gang fights. There is an armory for you where you will be able to unlock new weapons and protection for your gang.

As mentioned before, being a strategy game the gameplay is quite deep but keeping a track on your expanding empire is quite simple. There is a consigliore, your right hand which will continuously guide you how to proceed forward to make your family one of the most powerful family out of the five. You choose your family in the start and you have the freedom to do the missions in whichever order you desire. In the start most of your work is "chore", you spend most of the time constructing buildings, research how to run the family in a better way and upgrading your buildings. However you do get quite a number of opportunities to take care of the hoodlums on the street.

Like most of the online social strategy games by Zynga on Facebook, the fights are won by intelligence. Firstly you need to scope the area by using the courier. Once you know the strength of the other gang you just need to send in the required number of goons of your own to defeat the other gang. Unlock weapons and weapons stripped off from enemy goons in other fights add to the attack/defense capability of your own goons.

Of course in the start the game does feel like a chore but the work is worth the effort when you are finally freed to roam in the streets. While in the start you are protected from enemy families and neither you can go outside to try your hands on other families but once the gate opens you will feel it worth the effort you put in building your own family. The game focus is primarily on multiplayer gaming and it is quite successful on that front. The game elements are fun to play with and fit nicely into the theme of the game.

As far as game interface is considered, it is set in an oily painting theme which suits quite well to the Mafia don set up. As you would except in such a game, all features are easy to navigate and pretty to look at. The game is laidback but the presentation is quite polished.

The game might feel a little boring and slow at the outset and even the social options provided are a little less as compared to other social games of Zynga, but is you do not compare the game, the Godfather: Five Families is a nice and interesting game to play and mildly addictive too.
