The Acer Liquid Z3 is the successor of the Liquid Z2 which was launched back in February of this year. You can find some similarities between these phones such as same display size with same resolution, same camera resolution, same RAM size and also same storage capacity. However, the successor is packed with better Android version, better processor and better battery when compared with the predecessor. Also, the new one comes with Quick Mode profiles such as Basic Mode for youngsters, Senior Mode for senior users, Classic Mode for Android lovers and a Keypad Mode too. Another thing to note is that, it comes with a free flip cover. So, now let's look into the specifications of Acer Liquid Z3 smartphone along with its price in India.
Though the predecessor came with Android v4.1, the new one is packed with v4.2 Jelly Bean with a decent dual core processor of 1 GHz clock speed. The maker of CPU is unknown but it is expected to be MediaTek itself. In addition to this, 512 MB RAM memory has been included into the system. It comes in two variants, they are single-SIM and dual-SIM network supports. Dual SIM (GSM + HSDPA) piece will have dual standby also.
Display and Design
The phone measures 109 x 60 x 10.4 mm in dimension and weighs just 120 grams. It has a bit smaller screen of 3.5-inch on TFT capacitive touch with a maximum resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. Being an entry level phone targeted average people, this may be sufficient for the users. Rock Black and Classic White are the only colours in which this device will be available.
It's having a 3 MP rear facing camera just like its predecessor and unfortunately there is no secondary camera included in the specifications. Absence of front camera can be considered as a disadvantage of Acer Liquid Z3 smartphone. If you can't avoid video calling, this one is not for you. Geo-tagging and digital zooming are the only important features of the camera. No, there is no mention about LED flash, it's not available.
Internal & External Storage
No wonders, the phone will give you a maximum storage area of 4 GB with a 32 GB expansion slot. This internal storage can be used for storing all your files and if it finds insufficient, you will have to buy a microSD card of better size.
You need not to worry about the connectivity options becuase the phone gives support for 3G (HSPA+ 21 Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0 with EDR and A-GPS. Uploading speed of 3G is not available. The included sensors are Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.
The phone is able to play audio files of MP3, Midi, AAC, AMR, WAV formats and video files of 3GP, MP4, MKV, AVI formats. Also an FM radio has been included into the specifications of Acer Liquid Z3 handset.
Battery Size and Backup
The phone comes with a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery that claims a talk time of up to 6 hours and standby time of up to 450 hours. To afford its smaller 3.5-inch screen, this backup is enough. Only larger screens will need larger backup.
Price in India and Availability
The phone will go on sale in Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain, UK, Italy, Germany, Ukraine and Russia for the price of around $132 within two weeks. So, the price in India is expected to be around Rs.8,500. We will have to wait a few days to know the exact price and availability.
