This is perhaps the first time when Lenovo has come up all prepared to compete with the major manufacturing companies like Samsung, Nokia and HTC. Lenovo has announced that it will launch three new tablets in the market at the same time in July. The names of the tablets are Lenovo A1000, S6000 and A3000. These three tablets will be launched simultaneously in the market. Lenovo is a well-known brand of laptops, tablets and smartphones. We will discuss and review the features of all three tablets later but in this article we will talk about only Lenovo A3000 tablet.
Features and specifications
Lenovo A3000 is a very innovative smartphone with advanced features and specifications. So, let us start with the features and specifications of Lenovo A3000 tablet to see what new it offers.
Size and weight
Lenovo A3000 tablet has dimensions of 194 x 120 x 11 mm and it weighs 380 grams. You can easily carry this tablet in your hand but not in pocket as it is quite big. This device looks impressive from its body design. It has a large display screen. This tablet is smooth but it is 11 mm thick which makes it quite bulky as well.
The Lenovo A3000 sports a 7-inch display screen that has a high resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Its IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen comes with 16M supporting colors to enhance the quality of visuals.
Media and memory features
This mid-range tablet comes loaded with a range of media features. New apps for entertainment can be downloaded from Google Play and the device can be customized. The Lenovo A3000 doesn't have voice calling feature. It comes with HTML 5 browser but lacks FM radio.
The tablet comes with an inbuilt memory of 16 GB. Its memory can be easily extended up to 64GB by using MicroSD card. The tablet has good internal and external storage. Since a microSD card slot is available in this device, memory can be expanded up to 64 GB.
The connectivity features of the smartphone include USB Ports, A-GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The device lacks infrared and A2DP connectivity. The connectivity features are limited and this may disappoint the users.
The camera of this tablet may disappoint you. Lenovo A3000 comes with a 5.0 MP primary camera but this camera manages to take high quality pictures even in dim light. Additional features include auto focus, LED flash, face detection and zoom. The primary camera of this tablet has a high resolution of 3024 x 600 pixels while the 0.3 MP VGA secondary camera has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixles.
Operating system, processor and sensor
For smooth and fast performance, Lenovo A3000 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system which is the latest version of Android OS. The android operating system of the smartphone is not upgradable to other versions. The device is powered by Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 MTK 8389/8125 processor. For fast multi-tasking, the tablet comes loaded with 1024MB RAM. The sensors supported for this tablet are G-sensor, light sensor, gyroscope and e-compass. The tablet lacks dual SIM support and this may disappoint users. The body of this device lacks dual SIM card slots but comes equipped with QWERTY keypad for easy typing.
Messaging, GPS and colours
You can send only MMS, emails, push mails and IM messages though this tablet. This tablet also supports Java via Java MIDP emulator. The GPS features include A-GPS support and Google Maps. The tablet is available only in black color.
Lenovo A1000 features a 3500 mAh powerful Li-Ion battery. The battery gives a talk time of up to 22 hours and standby time of up to 510 hours. This is what we call a long lasting battery. The 3500 mAh battery provides enough backup power. So, you can easily carry it anywhere without the need of carrying a charger every time.
Network and supported file formats
Lenovo A1000 has 3G support. The operating frequency of the network of this tablet is Quad-band GSM 850 /900 /1800 /1900 MHz. Lenovo 3000 supports MP3, WAV, WMA, eAAC+ and FLAC players. The audio file formats supported are MP4, WMV, H.263 and H.264.
Other features of the tablet include Google Mobile Service (Google Play, Search, Mail, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter), Dolby Surround Sound, Virtual Reality Multi Window & Split View, Group Play, Story Album, Fun, Smart and Convenient and S Translator.
Price and availability
The smartphone is not yet launched by the manufacturer company. It is currently not available on any online shopping website or store. It is a mid-range phone. The price is not yet announced. It will be available in markets next month.
Lenovo 3000 is the company's latest flagship Android tablet. Lenovo A300 is a high end technology tablet from Lenovo. The Lenovo A3000 is a quad core tablet that comes loaded with decent specifications. Lenovo announced this tablet simultaneously along with Lenovo A1000 and S6000. The features loaded in the new A3000 are better than that of A1000 tablet. The IPS screen is a definite advantage A3000 has over its more affordable A1000 sibling. Its screen has wider viewing angles which is a good thing if you like watching videos or playing games on phone. If you are looking for a mid-range tablet with high end technology, then Lenovo 3000 tablet is a good option. If your budget is low, you can also consider its more affordable A1000 sibling. Currently, we need to wait for its launch in Indian market.
