MyWindowsClub.com interview with technical experts and bloggers.

Here is our interview with Nithin Ramesh: Founder of Windows Geek Blog

1. Introduce Yourself.

My name is Nithin Ramesh and am from Kerala. I am a simple guy with little bit of interest in technology. I like to blog about technology and has written an ebook called Windows 7: A Beginner's Guide.

2. Tell us about your technical background.

I am doing B-Tech in Electronics and Communication right now. I have also done courses in web designing and animation.

3. What do you do in order to keep up with latest tools and technologies?

Mostly I rely on the internet. There are thousands of blogs and sites out there that have information of virtually everything. I also read popular tech magazines such as Digit and PC World. They really help me to get the right perspective of things. I also use twitter to follow experts in my field and also fellow bloggers. Twitter has really helped me to get information fast and also to interact with people whom I idolize.

4. What are the technology web sites and blogs you are associated with?

I run a blog called Windows Geek Blog and has recently joined The Windows Club as an author.

5. What do you do when you are not building software or contributing in technical web sites and blogs ?

Apart from technology I have two major interests that is music and cricket. I am leaned to Rock and am a diehard fan of Backstreet Boys. I also like AR Rahman a lot. The next great thing for me is cricket and I will usually be stuck to my TV during the cricket season.

6. If you have a technical blog, which site is your role model? Which webmaster you like to follow?

There are lots of great blogs on the technology niche and it is very difficult to choose a single site. Paul Thurrots's Super Site for Windows and Anand Khanse MVP's The Windows Club are two great sites that I admire a lot and I hope that my blog will also reach that position one day.

I consider Ed Bott and Paul Thurrot as my role models because of their superb writing style

7. How and when did you start your blog? What makes your blog interesting to your current readers?

I started my blog in December 2009 and primarily consider it as a place to put down my views to the people.

I try to right articles with the viewpoint of a common man and not as a technical expert so that even a complete stranger (to the topic) can understand it easily. I guess that's what interests my readers.

8. Do you have any Microsoft certifications? If so, please elucidate about the same.

I don't have any Microsoft Certification right now but am planning to take MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) exam as that could help me after I finish my studies to get a job.

9. Are you a Microsoft MVP? How does the MVP status help you?
Or, are you interested to become a Microsoft MVP? Are you aware that contribution in MyWindowsClub.com can help you to achieve Microsoft MVP status?

I'm not an MVP and haven't considered of becoming one anytime soon because I don't think that am ready yet. Also from what I have learned working to become MVP will not take you anywhere. Just try to help people genuinely. That's where contributing to popular sites like MyWindowsClub.com helps. One will get more exposure and notice of MS and they might decide to reward your contributions with the MVP award.

10. What do you think about MyWindowsClub.com and the features? Is there any feature or option in MWC specifically attractive / interesting to you? If you become a decision maker in MWC, what changes you would like to introduce?

My Windows Club is a great place for the tech enthusiasts to showcase their knowledge and earn money at the same time. MWC has also got some really talented contributors as well. The Exam 70-680 is my favorite. As I said earlier I am planning to take the MCTS exam and this section will definitely help me a lot.

Hi all,

It is really a very nice interview Nithin Ramesh. It is a good idea as suggested by Jaya Kumar to post interviews with technology experts to improve the quality of our website. We are already publishing the interviews with DotNetSpider MVM award winners. I request the webmaster of MWC to publish interviews of experts in windows.
