    Why do we use http while writing an adress?

    Hello to all members of techulator I have to ask you a simple question regarding HTTP we often use WWW which means world wide web and we sometimes use HTTP or our browser generate it automatically but what is the use of the word HTTP and is there any full form of it. I want to know the complete information regarding this thing so I can know why this word is used and I can tell these things to my friends as well so they will also know more about Internet.

    Hello himansu, want to know why there is "http"before a site address.HTTP stands for hyper text transfer protocol. It is a protocol which gives instruction to the internet browser to view a webpage. There are many protocols , some of which are as follows:-
    1.Ftp - used to transfer files from your computer to your website
    2.File- used to open a file from your computer in a browser etc
