India Defence Ministry to launch "Netra" internet surveillance software soon

The Indian Government lab Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Robotics (CAIR) operative under Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed an internet surveillance software, named as "Netra".

"Netra" surveillance system is currently being tested by Intelligence Bureau and Cabinet Secretariat. CAIR and DRDO will soon finalise strategy for tracking internet use in coordination with Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT).

The "Netra" internet spy system is developed to detecting destructive words (such as "attack, bomb, blast, kill", etc.) in a flash from the heap of tweets, FB status updates, emails, Skype or Google Talk instant messaging transcripts, internet calls, blogs and forums.

This software system will surely serve as a milestone in the advancing security measures from Indian Defence Ministry.
