Hai Smart,
In a single word we can say that "Providing the computing Services on the Cloud is called as Cloud Computing".
It means the services related to Software, Hardware, Data Access, Storage, Network etc can be provided on the fly without requiring any knowledge about how they are structured on the cloud environment.
This is way through which whatever the service you opt, you need to pay for it. Whatever data storage is required, it will provide as per your need and you just need to pay for it.
So the major advantage of Cloud Computing is that you need not to buy any hardware's any network or storage to develop the software's.
For e.g. you have created a website which need to be hosted on some server. In general, you need to buy a server and then memory space and hosting environment and all other hardware and storage related devices. Also if later you need the additional server for scalable product again you need to think of buying new server or if you want to increase the server capability, you need to busy some other hardware's etc.
So the solution for all these things is cloud where you need not to buy anything. Just whatever you want, you can contact to service providers and whatever you will use, you just need to pay for it.
Today in the market there are many companies which are having the cloud environments Microsoft, Cisco etc.
The cloud comes in the 3 flavors: 1. IAAS (Infrastructure As A Service) 2. SAAS (Software As A Service) 3. PASS (Platform As A service)
So depending upon your requirement, you can go with those service providers. Hope it will help to get some introductory knowledge about the Cloud Computing.

Cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves delivering hosted services over the Internet. These services are broadly divided into three categories: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). The name cloud computing was inspired by the cloud symbol that's often used to represent the Internet in flowchart s and diagrams. A cloud can be private or public. A public cloud sells services to anyone on the Internet. (Currently, Amazon Web Services is the largest public cloud provider.) A private cloud is a proprietary network or a data center that supplies hosted services to a limited number of people. When a service provider uses public cloud resources to create their private cloud, the result is called a virtual private cloud. Private or public, the goal of cloud computing is to provide easy, scalable access to computing resources and IT services.

Cloud Computing - the most interesting advancement the field of computers and networking. this term generally means to create a cloud of resources over internet and allow users to use them. I will tell about this in general way , cloud computing means a group of computers where all computer resources such as hard disk, software and other necessary things. these all are access via internet irrespective to their location by simply login to these group of computers.

Definition:
Cloud computing delivers hosted services over the web on demand. In simple words, we can say by using cloud computing technology you can access all your needs through the internet. Eg:Yahoo, Gmail etc are using cloud computing technology.
Advantage: One of the main advantage of cloud computing is reduce cost. By using cloud computing the companies save lot of money as this technology will make virtual infrastructure instead of physical infrastructure. Other advantage is flexibility and automation, this technology is much flexible that, any number of users can access the required related application without any interruption and always this technology will keep on update with current industry standards. For eg: license, upgradation etc.
Usage: Today cloud computing is using mainly in IT industry as they can reduce cost in the form of virtual infrastructure.
