This thread is used to discuss about the topic 'Can anyone say about Solaris OS?'. Can anyone say about this OS which very new to hear. I need more and more information about this topic. Say what is the use of using this kind of OS. How it will work in the system? Will anyone say what kind of product it is? Hi, Solaris is a from Sun microsystems and now it is been owned by Oracle. Solaris is a developed based on Unix operating system. It will work better on SPARC(Scalable Processor Architecture) systems. SPARC systems was initially developed by Sun Microsystems for sun OS. Solaris OS is know for is Scalability,Dtrace (It is framework to troubleshoot the OS in production environment) and ZFS (It is a kind of file system like FAT and NTFS from Microsoft) Solaris OS are mainly used for Server systems. Solaris is the UNIX-based operating system of Sun Microsystems with roots in the BSD operating system family. Up to the version 3.x this operating system was called SunOS, this name was kept into the internal release information of current Solaris versions. The first version of SunOS was published in 1982. With the version 4.0 the new product name Solaris was introduced for SunOS releases as of 1989.The Solaris Operating System delivers the performance, stability and security to users.
