This thread is to discuss the opinion poll topic 'Is C.V.T. (Constant Voltage Transformer) is must for computer system?'.

The main function of C.V.T. (Constant Voltage Transformer) to give proper supply with smooth voltage to the equipments or computers. Before ten years most of the computer users were using CVT along with computers to protect the system from voltage fluctuations with UPS (Uninterrupted power supply). Discuss is the CVT is required for computers?

Hi Sood,
This is very Good Question.I am Electronics Engineer and according to my experience Constant Voltage need every time for our computer.but now in thses day Most of power supplies gives constant in their output voltage due to of Zener diode.Zener Diode is regulated diode which give only fix voltage on thier output.you know A fuse of #.15 mili ampere also Protect our power supply voltage.when ever some time when Inputer Voltage increase due to of some thing then this Fuse Goes in break down reigns and cutoff input supply.Through this protecting our computer save from high voltage.

Hello Aamir Shahzad

Thanks for a quick response. You had clearly mentioned in the forum response there is not need to use CVT as most of power supplies contains a technology for fixed voltage.
