Make sure that your laptop Lenovo G580 have WiFi driver downloaded / installed properly and working or identifying nearby WiFi device. For the same laptop, broadband connection and WiFi connection together is little confusing.

If you have desktop or other laptop that already connected with broadband at your place, then Lenovo G580 laptop can identify the WiFi router by search then you can pair it by device password and connect those other systems' net connectivity to this Lenovo G580 laptop.

It is very easy to connect your laptop to WiFi network. If your laptop is installed with all the network drivers, then it will automatically detect the available wireless access points and you can choose to connect with same. For enabling your laptop to detect the available access points you need to select the option 'Use Windows to configure my Wireless network settings'

You need to follow the below steps for enabling this option.

    1. Single mouse click on wireless network icon from right bottom corner of your screen.
    2. Wireless network connection status screen will open. Click on 'View Available networks' button.
    3. Click on 'Change Advanced Settings' from right side panel.
    4. Wireless network connection properties screen will open.
    5. Click on Wireless network tab and tick on the option 'Use Windows to configure my Wireless network settings' and click on OK.
    6. Now you laptop will automatically detect the available wireless access points so that you choose the same and connect.

The above option is windows default option, there is no need to install any WiFi connectivity tool like most of Lenovo laptops' 'Think Vantage' software for configuring wireless network.

If you are configuring wireless network through 'Think Vantage' utility, then you need to create a new Wireless network profile in this utility software and give the proper options for settings.

It is better to use the default option for accessing wireless network. As the manual configuration is little bit difficult.

Thank you very much for your precious reply. The trick to use "Think Vantage" software is working very effectively. Within a few seconds I did manage to connect my laptop with WiFi connection.

    Thanks once again
