Samsung Galaxy Core 2 does not seem to have USB OTG connectivity. So you may not be able to connect your USB drive to the phone and transfer data.

As per GSMArena's specifications page you can see that it supports MicroUSB 2.0. So the data transfer with PC is definitely possible. It does not however have the OTG cable so that would create an issue for device to device transfer. However if you have memory card then that can be used to transfer the data. Also using MicroUSB for the data transfer is an option by default.

Samsung Galaxy Core 2 doesn't supports OTG so you cannot use external devices on the smartphone whereas you can connect your smartphone to PC with help of data cable for any intended purpose.

To transfer data between your phone and computer, you can try some data backup softwares, and I think it can be easier with an android assistant tool, you can save a lot of time to transfer or backup text messages, contacts, photos, and other media files like videos, music files. I use MobiKin Assistant for Android.
