How to disable integrated webcam in Windows 10?

Worried about security risks through your PC webcam? Learn from our experts how to disable the integrated webcam in Windows 10 OS.

I understand that security of our PCs and laptop devices has been under threat these days. We need to not only keep our email accounts secure, but even the in-built hardware for our laptop. Though there are third-party softwares that may help you to keep your webcam secure in Windows 8, Windows 10 or even Windows 7 operating systems. However, I read somewhere that it is possible to disable integrated webcam in Windows 10 through Device Manager settings. Can someone please share the trick to deactivate laptop webcam (integrated one) in Windows 10? Do the same tips to disable integrated webcam work for Windows 8 or Windows 7?

    Hi Bhakti,

You can disable webcam in Windows 10 by disabling the drivers of your webcam. To disable you can go in device manager which you can get by right clicking on computer and going in Manage or you can go in run or search and can type devmgmt.msc and click on ok or press enter to open device management.

After you open device management you have to expand your imaging device by right clicking on it and it will show you the drivers which are available for your integrated webcam, cant tell you name of driver as for different laptop and PC different drivers will be there depending on which brands webcam you are using.

Right click on the driver and click on disable.
