I usually book tickets in MakeMyTrip or Redbus. They both have mobile websites and can be easily booked using mobile. They also have their dedicated apps in all mobile platforms. They provide Rs.150 discount for round trips ie Chennai to Bangalore and Bangalore to Chennai. There is also discount from single journey if you have coupon code. You can get coupon code from many websites like coupons.hindustantimes.com. I have Kotak debit and these travel providers will give offers for Kotak card users. You can also check with your bank for offers using debit card in online transaction. Private bank like ICICI, HDFC provides offers were you can avail upto 30% discount.
Both ticket providers have good customer support. They will help with boarding point and all other stuffs. I never seen flaws in both the service.

Usually I travel most of the times through redbus. Travel through redbus is reliable and safe.
Redbus opens tickets one month prior to the journey date. After booking a ticket, they send a confirmation message. Even on the day of the journey they send a message with bus number, driver name and his details. This helps in finding the exact location of the bus, so that we can plan to reach the boarding point(This is of much help with busy cities where traffic is really high at peak times)
Even they come up with rating the bus service provider. So besides price you can go for a better bus service.
They usually come up with some discounts, which will be sent to the email used at the time of ticket booking. These will be of much use during festival seasons where tickets rates are at the peak.
Here I listed some of the offers provided by redbus for this August month

Popular online bus ticket booking websites like Travelyaari.com and redbus.in are both pretty good! They both provide online ticket booking discount coupons or cashback vouchers from time to time. One just needs to be patient and wait for the right deal every week to book cheap bus tickets online. Additionally, you can even check cashback sites like topcashback.in or cashkaro.com to see if these online travel portals provide any cashback offers for a particular period. Also, either websites as well as another bus ticket booking website like Makemytrip keep providing some discount for shopping online through credit cards or debit cards of particular banks like American Express cards, Citibank cards, Standard Chartered cards, etc. So, simply keep checking the offers page of those websites and book the tickets whenever you get a good deal!
