How to solve no sound issue in HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop

Date: 16 Jul 2014    Group: Computers & Smart Devices    Category: Laptops & Tablets

My friend is using HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop, he was using default Windows Vista OS for few years and now he installed Windows XP Operating System to suit his laptop configuration. There was no issue in it (Hardware or Software) prior to installing Windows XP OS, now there is no sound (except warning / beep sound) even though he installed relevant Windows XP OS sound driver from official HP website. How to fix audio issue in HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop? Expert, please assist on this with required information and driver detail.

The HP Pavilion DV9000 was specifically configured to be compatible with Vista due to Microsoft's high promises about vista at that time. The sound devices and drivers in such laptops are designed specially for vista which was a real bummer.

Since updating the drivers from the HP website didn't work you can try one more thing and that is to first install the UAA (Universal Audio Architecture) drivers released by Microsoft and then install a compatible driver for your audio device. Since this process is a bit complicated, Microsoft has made available a Hotfix which can address this issue for XP systems which can be downloaded from the below reference link.
