Buying a laptop at online shopping site or showroom?

Date: 03 Jul 2014   Posted By: Rajasekhar     Group: E-commerce    Category: Online Shopping

Hi all,

I am thinking of buying a laptop. I have seen many online shopping sites offering discounts. I am in a dilemma whether to buy at ecommerce sites or directly at showroom. The difference between the prices is around Rs.3000/- to Rs.4000/-. If we go for online can we expect the original products or defective ones (because of heavy discounts). What about the warranty and service? How can we claim them?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks,
Rajasekhar

Well you don't need to be worry about purchasing products online. There are many reason for this. The e-commerce site have grown enough not to cheat. But however if you find some product damaged or in any way you are not satisfied with the product you can replace it easily. I believe that if you want to buy laptop then search and visit showrooms to have a look around and decide which laptop you have to buy. After you have selected the best laptop for yourself, go on ordering it online. But I would suggest you to buy it from reputed sites like Amazon, Flipkart etc which grantees replacement in case of any damage found after the delivery. Even they will come to your doorstep to exchange it. You can just log in to the account through which you have purchased the products and request for replacement or exchange or whatever.
I would suggest you to read this article to beware of the online fraud and how to avoid it.

A laptop is quite a precious item. Though the cost they show in discounts may allure you, you never know how prompt they would respond in replacing your laptop, if something goes wrong.
So I would suggest not going for online purchase of something so valuable. Buying from showroom will guarantee the condition of your laptop. If you are looking for discounts, even they are providing them quite well.
You can do is browsing for the brands and features online, and then buying them from a showroom only. Security should be the first criteria.

I would suggest you to buy a laptop online if you are not in hurry to do so. Before that you can check reviews of that particular laptop online. Also check it out at your nearest showroom. You will get reasonable discounts and replacement warranty from genuine online shopping sites like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon or eBay.

I bought my laptop from showroom after noticing the price online. I bargained with showroom and purchased for the Rs.500 less than online store. My advice choose the laptop you want, check the price both online and showroom and go buy who offers the least.

You no need to worry about purchasing laptop online unless you buy from reputed sites as mentioned by above friends.

Check deals in online website. With some deals you can get even get Rs.3000 offer from the original price. You can visit deals.ebay.com.

Online website offers cashback for some banks. If you don't have that bank, you can make use of your friends card too.

Any product can be purchased online mode as these type of shopping offers more cash discount than retail sellers.

One need to be more careful while selecting expensive products like laptop through online shopping sites. One should rely on shopping sites that have shown credibility and marketing experience.

The major issue is warranty case as some laptop manufacturers not ready to offer warranty to products purchased through online mode. One should make sure the online shopping website offer the warranty from the brand itself.

Always consult with friends who have successfully completed their online shopping for laptops and ask their valuable suggestions.
