Though internet is human's greatest invention, it's a loophole of several malpractices. And without your knowledge you and your activities will be observed daily by notorious hackers. So, when you are about to login to any website of particular bank, check for the green colour with a lock in URL bar i.e. 'https' in URL bar.
Also, don't respond to mails that you receive on behalf of your bank without checking them for safety. Generally, banks don't ask their customers to enter their confidential information unless it is highly urgent. When making an online purchase via internet banking create a virtual debit card, which will expire very soon after a transaction and making your transaction more secure. Hope these measures help you.
