Making inroads to operating system for smartphones and tablets, Google made a humble beginning in November 2007 with the introduction of Android as an OS for smartphones and tablets. Starting with the Beta version it went on upgrading the versions from Android 1.0 onwards. The minor changes were made by updating the versions like 1.1 and 1.2 etc. Whenever there were some major additions, the new version started with a different numbers 2, 3 and 4 etc.
Google also started a system of giving a dessert name for each of its new upgraded version. Starting from Cupcake, it has now reached Jelly Bean. From this it is clear that 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is a older version which was introduced on October 19, 2011 than 4.1 (Jelly Bean) which was introduced on July 9, 2012. The change in the dessert name also shows that it is new version with a lot of change in features. It is quite obvious then 4.1 (Jelly Bean) is better OS than 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
